NWFA’s Expo Features NASCAR Legends
The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) will feature two celebrity guests who will share their success and life experiences during the 2016 Wood Flooring Expo, April 27 – April 30, in Charlotte, North Carolina, home of NASCAR.
“We look forward to welcoming Junior Johnson and Rusty Wallace to this year’s Expo,” said Michael Martin, NWFA President & CEO. “Each guest has achieved incredible successes in his career – winning record numbers of races and championships, earning recognition in NASCAR, and Hall of Fame accolades – but even more significant is how each inspires others with their memorable life experiences.”
This year’s “Floor It” themed Expo will start with “The Last Real American Hero,” Junior Johnson. He will be the special guest at the Opening Session and Moonshine Madness Reception on Wednesday, April 27. Johnson was inducted into the Motorsport Hall of Fame of America in 1991, named one of NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers in 1998 and inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2010. As a teenager, Johnson started his racing career by running moonshine for his family’s business. He was quickly recognized as one of the best with the spirit of a racer and slick driving skills. His passion for racing introduced him to NASCAR, where he became an instant star. Now retired from racing, he manufactures his own brand of moonshine called Midnight Moon.
Rusty Wallace will be the keynote speaker during an NWFA Awards Ceremony on Thursday, April 28. Wallace, the 1989 NASCAR Cup Series Champion, 1984 Rookie of the Year and a 55-time Cup Series race winner, will go into history as one of NASCAR’s finest drivers. He is a member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, the International Motorsports Hall of Fame, the National Motorsports Press Association (NMPA) Hall of Fame and the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America. Wallace remains an active competitor, as owner of Rusty Wallace Racing, which has fielded entries in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series. He is also a board member of The NASCAR Foundation where he serves on the foundation’s development committee and aids in fundraising for their mission of helping children ‘live, learn and play.’ Learn lessons in success during the ceremony and get a chance to meet him on the trade show floor.
The show was recognized by Trade Show Executive for the third consecutive year as one of the Top 50 fastest growing shows, for an average of 25 percent growth each year, in 2012, 2013, and 2014. Poised for another year of growth, attendance registrations are outpacing previous years yet again.
